About

cathyfisher.jpgCathy Fisher is an almost completely functional 22-year-old human being. She was raised in a house made out of old computers in the suburbs of Detroit. She likes movies, TV, comedy, drawing, tidying, dogs, the internet, writing, cooking, gadgets, dissonance, daydreaming, warm weather, and quirky music. She's passionate about feminism, social reform, elegant design, and proper punctuation.

She graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in Screen Arts & Cultures. She likes writing (especially for TV), editing, and film history. She can talk endlessly about Wes Anderson, Brazil, Lost, 30 Rock, and British comedy. She wishes other people would stop talking about 3-D, Quentin Tarantino, and The Princess Bride.

She spent two years as the editor-in-chief of U-M's ever-struggling humor magazine, The Gargoyle, after working as a staffer for one year and as art director for another. Most of this time was spent picking up Legos and sending emails, but occasionally she also did some writing and drawing and assembled a magazine.

During the summer of 2009 she interned at Condé Nast Digital, search engine optimizing, metadata editing, spreadsheeting, and iPhone app testing, mostly for Epicurious, Concierge, and Brides.com. She's currently hunting for a career, ideally in some kind of creative media field. If you are a person who is interested in giving Cathy a job, her resume can be found here.
