Projects

Professional and Educational

There's a slew of stuff that's either in progress or done but not publishable due to confidentiality issues. But in the near future, some new stuff will be appearing here.

Some exciting highlights:

Patient Flow Analysis for the University of Michigan Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Done as a group project for SI 501: Contextual Inquiry and Project Management. Basically we interviewed the staff and observed their behavior, analyzed our data, and generated recommendations for them.

Screenplay Database for the Donald Hall Collection
(In Progress) Teaching myself Drupal in order to transfer a database of the collection's over 3000 screenplays from an Excel file to a searchable, tagged, and categorized website.

User Research for Slashdot.org
(In Progress) My group project for SI 622: Evaluation of Systems and Services. We'll be using a variety of research techniques to analyze the usability of Slashdot.org.
In the meantime, why don't you check out the weirder things under the next header.

Personal, Entertainment, and Uncategorizable

A non-weekly online multimedia humor magazine that I co-founded with some of my dear friends and fellow Gargoyle alums. I realized that there wasn't much of the kind of comedy that I like on the web, so I applied for a magazining permit at the Central Bureau for Internet, and that's how Brine came into existence!

The Sons of Ra do not exist. They are not a secret fraternal organization that controls every government in the world. I have no knowledge of the Sons of Ra. The Sons of Ra do not have an official website.

Film Consumption Log
A continually updated list of movies I want to see and have seen.

Laughtracker (Defunct!)
I've been curious as to whether or not I could make a regularly-updated and engaging media blog, so I started this one about the wide world of comedy. I have no idea whether I've succeeded or not. We'll have to wait and see.

Veggie-A-Week (On indefinite hiatus!)
In which I try to cure my lifelong aversion to vegetables by preparing a different kind each week (or variable period of time) and reassessing how I feel about it.
